Church Values:
Our values represent the essential beliefs and commitments that shape our church's identity and guide our actions. They define who we are, how we operate, and what we prioritize in our journey of following Jesus together. These values help shape our culture, align our actions, and ensure that everything we do reflects the love and truth of the Gospel.
1. Experiencing the Presence, Power, and Love of God
We were created to worship God, commune with Him, and experience His presence forever. Our good and loving God desires that we abide in Him, posturing ourselves to focus on Him and glorify Him. Our aim is to experience His presence daily—both in personal time alone with Him and as we gather for weekly celebrations. When we come together as His children, we do so with expectancy, knowing that through Jesus we are connecting with our good Father who is present to heal, love, transform, and speak to us through the power of the Holy Spirit.
2. Creating a Welcoming, “Come As You Are” Environment
We recognize that hospitality is an expression of love. We strive to create gatherings where those who do not yet know Jesus, as well as those struggling with faith, can feel comfortable, appreciated, and included. Our goal is not just to provide a welcoming place but to foster welcoming hearts—a space where people feel truly known, accepted, and invited into what God is doing. This welcoming spirit extends beyond our worship gatherings to our homes, as we intentionally reach out to our neighbors and those who have yet to encounter Jesus.
3. Seeking Growth and Transformation as We Are Formed in Christ
Jesus desires that we become like Him. Many of us have experienced brokenness and the effects of sin during our formative years and beyond, but in community and in Christ, we are being transformed to reflect His image and likeness. We hunger for His life and freedom to shape our thinking, emotional health, the way we relate to others, and how we carry out His calling and commission on earth. By including community in our process, we can grow in self-awareness and in loving others by fostering vulnerability, authenticity, and graciousness. As we practice daily spiritual disciplines, we intentionally posture our lives as apprentices of Jesus, allowing ourselves to be formed by Him. We recognize that if we don’t routinely seek Him, we will inevitably be shaped—or even deformed—by other voices.
4. Pursuing and Demonstrating the Justice and Compassion of God’s Kingdom
Jesus came to establish God’s Kingdom, setting all things new and all things right. This was His main message and continues to be ours: “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is here.” It is at hand—palpable, ready to transform lives and connect heaven with earth. We are called to seek justice where there is injustice—in our city and broader systems—and to extend compassion to the least, the lonely, and the lost. We share our love, resources, influence, and most importantly, Christ with all. Joining Jesus in His mission of restoration and reconciliation is the reason why the Church has been set apart—for the sake of the world.
5. Building a Diverse Community Rooted in Mutual Respect and Love
We value unity, not uniformity. A community that reflects the diversity of heaven on earth—a multiethnic, intergenerational space—is a powerful testimony of God’s love. By fostering mutual respect and love, and protecting the dignity of all humans created in the image of God, we create an environment where people of different backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and political perspectives can learn to love one another. We desire to see the diversity of heaven and eternity expressed here on earth as a reflection of God’s Kingdom. We seek to not be peacekeepers but peacemakers as we confront tensions and conflicts with humility, directness, and forgiveness. This countercultural way of living is how the world will truly know that we are disciples of Jesus.

Our Community Commitments:
At Valley Vineyard Church, we are committed to being a church that cares for the community by serving the poor and supporting families in our neighborhood through intentional, impactful efforts:
Serving the Poor:
• Food Pantry: Addressing food insecurity by providing nutritious meals to those in need.
• Children’s Hunger Fund: Partnering to supply food for children facing hunger in our community.
• Tiny Homes Outreach: Building meaningful connections with our homeless neighbors through compassion and care.
Supporting Families:
• Youth Initiatives: Creating a safe and welcoming space for young people to build connections and explore faith.
• Children’s Events: Offering free, family-friendly events that demonstrate the church’s love and care.
• Family Support and Resources: Providing practical help through partnering programs, e.g., Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic, CLA-LA, and Immigration Connection.
The "why" behind our commitment lies in the heart of Jesus' mission: to love God and love others in tangible and transformative ways. At its core, this is a call to embody the Gospel by living out radical love, compassion, and service to those in need.
Because Jesus Calls Us:
Jesus modeled a life of sacrificial love and commanded us to care for the "least of these" (Matthew 25:40). We serve because we are first loved by Him.
Because the Kingdom of God Is Here:
Our work is about bringing glimpses of heaven to earth—meeting practical needs while inviting people into a deeper relationship with Christ.
Because Every Person Matters:
Every individual, whether poor, hungry, homeless, or part of a struggling family, is made in the image of God and deserves to experience His love.
