Vineyard youth

Love God. Love People.

We teach our Youth that they were created with purpose:
To love God, to be loved BY God, and to be the expression of God’s love to his whole creation.

We foster a community that values diversity of cultures and opinions and we do that by making our youth community a space that is truly a space to come as you are. Youth are encouraged to think for themselves and to examine their beliefs and to interrogate the word of God. If the Gospel is the ultimate truth (which we know that it is) how can any young person be in the wrong to ask tough questions about why we believe what we believe? Every single lesson pushes youth to examine the character and nature of Jesus.

This openness leads to trust. Our youth feel safe inviting nonbelieving friends because they know they will be respected and cared for, but also that our leaders are not going to be offended by people who hold different beliefs. We don’t rush young people into baptisms or even statements of faith, they’re allowed to belong before they believe. As a result of this our Valley Vineyard Youth has an extremely unique quality, its missional, most of our youth don’t come from churchgoing households. It’s a lot of young people discovering that this Jesus centered community is safe for them and their friends in a generation that has come to believe
based on the media they receive that the church is not for everybody.
About 1/3 of our church’s weekly attenders are Grades 6-12.
