Renewal Experience: January through Easter Sunday 2025
In the midst of life’s busyness, it’s vital to prioritize what truly matters. The Big Three—Scripture, Prayer, and Reflection—are practices that anchor our souls, helping us hear from God, align with His will, and experience renewal.
Scripture: Contemplative Bible Reading
Engaging with God’s Word through contemplative reading allows us to slow down and truly listen. This practice invites the Holy Spirit to guide us, revealing truths and promptings that speak directly to our hearts. God’s Word is not static; it’s alive and active, transforming us as we respond to His voice.
We recommend using the Psalms, the Book of Proverbs, the Gospel of John, the Book of Acts, and the Epistles of James or John.
Prayer: Listening Prayer
Prayer is not just speaking to God—it’s also making space to listen. In listening prayer, we open our hearts to His presence and guidance, creating a dialogue that deepens our relationship with Him. This practice teaches us to recognize His voice in the quiet and throughout our daily lives.
Reflection: The Daily Examen
The Daily Examen is a reflective practice that helps us notice God’s activity in our day. By reviewing where we’ve drawn closer to Him—or moved away—we cultivate awareness and gratitude. This gentle, grace-filled reflection realigns our hearts and keeps us walking in step with His Spirit.
By prioritizing these "big rocks" each day before the smaller rocks that keep us busy, we root ourselves in God’s presence and purpose. These practices ensure our lives are guided by what is truly essential. Through The Big Three, we create space for transformation, intimacy, and renewal in Christ.
