VV Kids
Our children's ministry exists to provide a space of belonging for all families centered around the belief that all children are created in the image of God and deserve to feel and be included in all aspects of worship, discipleship and community.
Roles
Class Teacher: Leading the Elementary class (1-4th grade) in the lesson for the week. Materials for the lesson come from Orange, and are sent to the teachers the week scheduled. This includes preparing for teaching the lesson, gathering materials (or asking if we have them) for any activities, and being responsible for following the existing flow and structure of the class (posted in each classroom).
Class Aide/Check-in: This person works between the elementary and nursery classes to ensure each class has everything they need for Sunday. Check in begins at 10:30am at the marked check-in station and this person is responsible for welcoming new families and walking them through the process.
Nursery: There are several people scheduled every week in the nursery, with the opportunity for one on one care for those with special needs or disabilities. Please see Taylor for more info on sensory play/rooms, or individualized care.
Expectations
~Team members are expected to be regular members of the Valley Vineyard, and attending services when not scheduled.
~All teachers and aides will participate in a quarterly teachers meeting, covering curriculum, classroom management and best practices.
~Be available for switching scheduled weeks to work together with the team to cover all classes
~A strong teaching gift is not necessary, but a love for children and their personal development is! Inside and outside the classroom, our desire is for the teachers to lead the way in a multigenerational focus, including the children in all age appropriate activities.
~After service, teachers and aides make sure the rooms are put back the way they were, and help with light cleaning, vacuuming, etc… to keep our rooms looking good.
